for period ending 8 December (some reports are of earlier obs).
BLACK-FACED MONARCH 11/11 National Botanic Gardens [a VERY uncommon
local visitor; courtesy of birding-aus' own Pat O'Malley!]
KOELS continue to be unusually widespread in Canberra
WHITE-WINGED TRILLERS a second 'wave' moving through
GLOSSY BLACK-COCKIES a roost of 9 located on inner suburban Mt Majura
REGENT HONEYEATERS 2 possible/probable breeding-intending pairs in
northern ACT woodlands
BROWN SONGLARK 3/12 on inner suburban Mt Painter - the first ACT record
that I know of since 1995 [though they used to be regular]
SUPERB PARROTS 4/12 6 males, on the same Mt Painter - generally regarded
as pretty bare!
HOBBY TAKING INDIAN MYNA!!
STRAW-NECKED IBIS apparently breeding with Whites on Rowe's Lagoon (near
Collector,south of Goulburn on the Federal Highway) [this could be a first
for the region]
