                          Request for information

A request for observers on the list. As I am trying to keep tabs on Great,
Little and Intermediate Egret breeding across the state of Victoria (Aust.)
I would be greatful for any information observers may have of breeding by
these species in the last 2 seasons. The major previously used sites are
Gunbower Forest and Barmah Forest on the Murray River near Echuca but other
sites have been used with smaller numbers of birds breeding.

Alternatively, if you know of areas where these species have previously
bred and have not used in recent years I would also be interested in
hearing about it. Peoples experience of any over-the-border breeding (SA
or NSW) would be of interest to me as well.

Egret colonies have been in serious decline in the Victoria in the last 20
years and I am trying to track breeding success as a means of understanding
this phenomenon.
