Ken Harris and I plan to do 5 days birding in central west NSW whilst on a
circuitous route to Canberra from Melbourne. Departing 11 December.

Current plan is to spend some time in the Gulpa Forest/Deniliquin area,
which we know reasonably well, and then move up to Booligal and then
westwards towards Canberra, perhaps visiting Round Hill, Cocoparra NP and
Lake Cowal.

We'd much appreciate some advice on what the hot spots are at the moment -
abundance, diversity, breeding, etc. We're especially interested in catching
up with Little Bittern and Painted Snipe.

Also any tips on how to bird Booligal and Lake Cowal effectively.

Can anybody provide advice?

Thanks in advance,

Mark Barter
