Because the Gould League webmaster said that the word mermaid is filtered out of schools.net, I have mirrored the site through the local community house site: http://home.vicnet.net.au/~osch/hintsfor.htm They have a permaculture garden there, and I'm sure people are on the lookout for birds all the time.
