The Brisbane City Council placed a notice of a "Proposed Amendment to the
Transitional Planning Scheme for the City Of Brisbane - Zoning of Manly Boat
Harbour" in the newspaper recently. This seems to be a result of a
development scheme proposed by the Yacht Club. The plan I saw (briefly) did
not appear to include the point where the birds roost so I am wondering why
this area is closed off.
The proposed Town Plan amendment is available for inspection at the Customer
Service Centre in the city at 69 Ann St, Brisbane City.
Any person may on or before 18 December 1998:
(a) reguest details of the proposed amendment and/or
(b) make a signed written submission , regarding the proposed amendment,
addressed to
Manly Boat Harbour Project

For further information, contact Peter van Sloten on ph.(07)3403 4470 or
Kathy Baguley on ph.(07)3403 4249.

If you have ever seen the birds at Manly Boat Harbour you will know what a
great spot it is,and that it will be lost if the Yacht Club is allowed to
put up a permanent barricade on the foreshore. A letter to the Brisbane city
Council might help.
