Thanks to Martin O'Brien for bringing to everyone's attention the six
Draft Action Plans released for public comment in the ACT (Australia)
     by Environment ACT in Canberra.

     The bird species concerned are:

Hooded Robin (Melanodryas cucullata) Swift Parrot (Lathamus discolor)
Superb Parrot (Polytelis swainsonii) Brown Treecreeper (Climacteris
picumnus) Painted Honeyeater (Grantiella picta) Regent Honeyeater
     (Xanthmyza phrygia).

Also released is another important action plan for the endangered
community, Yellow Box / Red Gum Grassy Woodland.

Obviously the well being of this community and the endangered birds
within it is of importance well beyond the boundaries of the ACT.

Canberra Ornithologists Group will be preparing responses for all
     these action plans.

I would encourage you to send any comments on the action plans to me,
or to start a thread on birding-aus should the issue warrant it. The
quality and impact of the COG submission will undoubtedly be improved
     by input from Birding-ozzers.

Wishing you all the very best.

     Paul Fennell
     President, COG
