Hello again,
after an inspired morning and driving home after our trip I was
saddened to see a Masked Lapwing standing beside its dead mate at the side
of the road. The area has been recently harvested (sugar) and is thick with
black Kites and other raptors. I am not sure whether or not it was
protecting the body from them or it was having an almost human response to
its mates death like some other species.
     Any comment

cheers
Chris
