Ian Jenny Bounds and myself were returning to Canberra from the Bignet Meeting at Leeton on Sunday afternoon (13 September). We observed two Major Mitchell cockatoos feeding on the ground with a small mob of Galahs beside the main highway just as it enters Ardlethan from the west. They were feeding on some wheatlike grass about 20 metres off the road. This appears to be a fairly easterly sighting. We will be submitting an Atlas record for this. Quite made our day. __________________________________________________________ Paul Fennell or Telephone 02 6205 9401 (w) 02 6254 1804 (h) Fax 02 6205 9226 |
