From: Ian on 10/09/98 12:25 To: cc: Subject: Signs of spring Last weekend, I heard the unmistakeable baritone buzzing of a big, brown blowfly in the kitchen - a definite sign of spring in southern Australia! More importantly, Shining Bronze, Horsfields and Fantailed Cuckoos are here (no Pallids yet), and Olive-backed Orioles, Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes and Fairy Martins have also arrived. Still no Sacred Kingfishers along the Yarra (or I have missed them). It's a great time of year.
