Hi Folks

Sorry that a few of you have had problems getting on or off the list.

The usual way is to send a message to

Leave the subject line blank and in the message put:

        subscribe birding-aus

HOWEVER, if your mail program or mail server does funny things with your
address, this method may not work!! Some people have different "to" and
"from" addresses (why?????) which confuses the software running
birding-aus, and the above method does not work.

SO.... you have 2 other methods to try:

1. If you know how, it is possible to configure SOME mailers with a
pseudo-address - just use the one you are subscribed under. You can find
that out by sending a "who birding-aus" message to

2. If this doesn't work then I'm afraid you will have to send me a
message to do it for you manually. I usually check my mail every day, but
at the moment it's more like every 3-4 days.

Thanks for the suggestion from a couple of readers re the FAQ - another
thing to put on my 'to do' list :-)

Thank you all for your patience, now go and calm yourselves down with a
quiet birdwatching!

Cheers
