Hello counters, I have received messages, emails etc. from NSW this afternoon saying that the central coast of NSW is experiencing a deluge. The rain is apparently so bad that no-one has a chance of seeing anything much, and its not likely to let up. By all means chase up your sites either during the week or next weekend. The Vic/SA count will continue as before, and I'm not sure what the weather is doing on the NSW inland slopes, I'm assuming its OK. It is obviously better to have the Vic/NSW coast counts at slightly different times than to have no NSW coast records because everyone there was kept inside by torrents of rain, and in any case, one could probably assume that a group of Regents or Swifties at Lononderry on the 12th are not recounts of birds seen at Bailieston on the 8th!. Maybe it will clear up Sunday. Please keep me posted on the weather. Simon K |
