The Australian Bird Study Association conducts annual workshops
relating to an aspect of bird research. Recent workshops have
been to Iron Range and Little Desert. The next workshop is to be
held in the Capertee Valley, about three hours west of Sydney.
The goal of the workshop will to investigate various aspects of the
biology and ecology of both breeding and non-breeding Regent
Honeyeaters in different habitats and will focus on the current
colour-banding studies of Regent Honeyeaters in the Capertee area.
This will be a perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to assist in
straightforward research of an endangered species while providing an
insight into the behaviour of these honeyeaters. Data collected will
be workshopped during the week and subsequently written up.
The workshop will conducted over the week Saturday 3 to Friday 9
October 1998. Participants are welcome to attend for the long
weekend only or for the whole week. Accommodation will be available
in a self contained cottage although limited places are available, or
camping around the cottage.
Enquiries regarding the workshop, and expressions of interest in
attending, can be directed to David Geering. Phone (03) 9412 4297
