I recently posted a comment about Apostlebirds in South Australia. This week we had a visit from my sister-in-law. She works in the Peterborough hospital in the mid north of SA. She says that the Apostlebirds are something of a pest in the grounds of the hospital. It seems that they try to enter the rooms of the patients (I think the rooms open on to a verandah if my memory is correct). I would not be surprised if they have been fed by patients over the years and now try to muscle in on a free feed whenever they can. Trevor Hampel Murray Bridge South Australia |
