Highlights from twice-weekly Canberra Ornithologists' Group (COG) hotline, for fortnight ending 10 July (some reports are of earlier obs). GLOSSY BLACK-COCKIES 2 (30/6) & 7 (3/7) on suburban Mt Majura YELLOW-RUMPED THORNBILL 3/7 carrying nesting material! WHITE-NAPED, FUSCOUS, YELLOW-FACED HONEYEATERS [all usually total migrants]; regular suburban reports GREY BUTCHERBIRD 8/8 immature killed sparrow in suburban Melba garden, then chased off by Willie Wagtail [this is a VERY uncommon suburban species here, and even then is virtually limited to autumn records of dispersing young] ..............................................................
