Starlings go west (or try to!)

Was very interested to see in the "Recovery Round-up" section of the June
1998 "Corella" (journal of the Australian Bird Study Association) that two
Common Starlings banded in April 1994 at Coorabie, Fowlers Bay, Eyre
Peninsula, South Australia were recaptured (taken into captivity for nature
conservation reasons) in December 1997 by Agriculture Western Australia,
near Condingip, WA. This is a direct line movement of 940 km.

I assume these starlings are no longer with us.  The West Australians are
doing a great job, I think it was only last week someone suggested that the
range of native birds in Perth was a consequence of no hard core ferals
(conveniently ignore Rainbow Lorikeets and Laughing Kookaburra here).
