Channel-billed Cuckoos again

Following on from yesterday,
three Channel-billed Cuckoos were in the same
tree but two hours earlier after a cool drizzly night. I am sure these are
first year birds that did not migrate, and are suseptable to the coolness of
a Daintree winter as compared to the temperature they would be experiencing
if they were in Irian Jaya or Papua New Guinea. There are most likely others
around here but I suspect at sea-level and not in the tablelands. They can
be seen quite well from the carpark at the Daintree Village Jetty with a
spotting scope.
cheers
Chris
