Hello, My name is James Nicholls and I am an honours student at the Australian National University. For my honours project I am studying the evolution of cooperative breeding in the thornbills. I am using DNA sequence data to construct an evolutionary tree of the thornbill species, then having constructed the tree I will map the occurrence of cooperative breeding onto it. In order to do this I need to know whether certain thornbill species are cooperative breeders or not, in particular Inland, Tasmanian, Western, Slender-billed, Mountain and Slaty-backed Thornbills. So if you have information on whether these species are cooperative or pair breeders I would be most appreciative if you could get in touch with me. My address is: James Nicholls Department of Botany and Zoology The Australian National University Canberra ACT 0200 or my email address is Thanks, James Nicholls |
