Hunter Bird Observers Club spent the June long weekend at White Box Camp
which is in the Goulburn River National Park, near Merriwa NSW.  Sunday was
a damp day (to say the least!) but Saturday and Monday were great.

The bird list came to 82 species, with highlights including  6+ Southern
Whiteface (it's several years since these were last recorded in the Hunter
Region), a pair of Red-winged Parrot (a most unusual local record; thanks
to Trevor Quested for putting us on to them), and 15 types of honeyeater.  

The overall list was:

PS,  mainly for David Geering - the Regent Honeyeater was a solitary bird,
unbanded, seen briefly in flowering ironbark (same tree as two years ago)
and a formal report will be sent through in due course.
