     Highlights by observers in New South Wales over the last week are as 
     follows:
     
     YELLOW-NOSED ALBATROSS     14 Maroubra, Sydney 7/6
     BLACK-BROWED ALBATROSS     4 Maroubra 7/6
     SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATER    1 Mistral Point, Maroubra 4/6
     PROVIDENCE PETREL  33 north Mistral Point, Maroubra 5/6 and 70 passed  
                        north there 7/6
     AUSTRALASIAN BITTERN       3 Pitt Town Lagoon, Windsor daily up to 7/6 
                                and 3 Rowe's Lagoon, Goulburn 20/5
     BLACK BITTERN      1 Mitchell Park, Cattai 2/6
     HARDHEAD           100 Pitt Town Lagoon 7/6
     BEACH STONE-CURLEW 1 Bonna Point, Kurnell (within Botany Bay) 2/6
     DOUBLE-BANDED PLOVER       10 Bonnie Vale, Royal Nat. Park 7/6
     PACIFIC GULL       1 ad Windang, Wollongong 14/5
     KELP GULL          12 Windang, Wollongong 14/5
     CASPIAN TERN       13 Windang, Wollongong 14/5
     COMMON TERN        6 Windang, Wollongong 14/5
     WHITE-FRONTED TERN 2 Windang, Wollongong 14/5
     POWERFUL OWL       1 Glenbrook, Blue Mountains 2/6
     YELLOW-TAILED BLACK COCKATOO       71 Ramsgate, Sydney 7/6
     GLOSSY BLACK COCKATOO      3 Mackerel Beach, Pittwater, Sydney 7/6
     SWIFT PARROT       Up to 80 Londonderry, Richmond daily up to 8/6 and
