Hi, Some months ago there was an inconclusive discussion about numbers of Bee-eaters being low in the south east. It's now June and I hardly noticed Bee-eaters passing through Townsville on northward migration during april and May. Sure, Bee-eaters were common and you could not fail to find one if you looked. But I did not notice the noisey bouncing flocks of hundreds and thousands that usually pass through Townsville in autumn. Has anyone else noticed a lackof migrating Bee-eaters? Alas, I don't have any quantitative data. I wonder if Ian Clayton made any counts before scooting off to the Cape? Cheers, David James PO BOX 5225 Townsville Mail Centre 4810 |
