In the Castlereagh State Forest, west of Sydney, at the start of road 27, we saw 8 Regent Honeyeaters today. Other good birds were 2 Black-chinned Honeyeaters, 3 Red-capped Robins. Other honeyeaters seen were: Fuscous, White-naped, Yellow-faced, White-eared, Brown-headed, White-cheeked, White-plumed, Eastern Spinebill, Noisy Miner, & Noisy Friarbird. Back out on the road, just south of the entrance & outside house 194, we saw c10 Swift Parrots. The blossom in the Eucalypts is so extensive & the forest pumps. It is hard not to get excited. Dick Turner reports extensive Mugga Ironbark in blossom at the corner of Londonderry Rd & Carrington Rd Londonderry. We saw 114 species today Trevor Quested Sydney, Australia Phone +61 2 9955 6266 Fax + 61 2 9959 4005 |
