Hello everyone,

This is just a reminder that the Regent Honeyeater/Swift Parrot counts are on
this weekend. We would like to thank everyone who contacted us regarding
these surveys. This year the coverage of south eastern Australia looks to be
better than ever before, largely thanks to David Geering's terrific networking
in
New South Wales. Thanks David!

The latest lowdown on Swift Parrots: There are birds in flowering Swamp
Mahogany on the New South Wales central coast again this year, and they have
been recorded at one of their most famous haunts, Chiltern. There are also
Swifties in a number of State Forests between Maryborough and St Arnaud in
central western Victoria, where they are still mainly in Grey Box country.
Their
numbers in this district will be better known after this weekend, when the
forest
blocks are all visited at the one time! Not sure what is happening in
Rushworth
forest, but people will be searching this area this weekend. Six Swift Parrots
flew
over my house this morning.

Enjoy the surveys!!!

WE KNOW THEYRE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS
FIND THEM
