     Highlights in New South Wales over the last week are as follows:

     EMU                1 with 8 young Munghorn Gap, Mudgee 13/4
     PLUMED WHISTLING DUCK      25 Richmond 13/4
     BEACH STONE-CURLEW 1 Shoalhaven Heads, Nowra 15/4 - back from its trip
                        to Wollongong?
     JAPANESE SNIPE     1 Mill Ponds, Botany 27/3
     COMMON SANDPIPER   1 Yarramundi Bridge, Richmond 13/4
     CASPIAN TERN       2 Dee Why Lagoon, Sydney 11/4
     LITTLE TERN        1 Penrhyn Road, Botany 4/4
     WHITE-WINGED BLACK TERN    12 Nobby's Head, Newcastle 11/4
     PALLID CUCKOO      1 Capertee Valley 13/4
     BARN OWL           1 in a disused train tunnel UNDER St James Station,
                        Sydney 6/4 - extraordinary location.  Also 1
                        Narromine and 1 Wellington 10/4
     SACRED KINGFISHER  1 Maroubra, Sydney 10/4
     LEADEN FLYCATCHER  1 fem Gore Creek Valley, Lane Cove 14/4
     PLUM-HEADED FINCH  8 Capertee River, Glen Alice 13/4

     Regarding last week's Letter-winged Kite, I have spoken to the
     observer who is adament as to the correct identity and the site was
     roughly half way between Tenterfield and Glen Innes.
