Peter Brown, Editor of ECLECTUS - the Birds Australia Parrot Association
(BAPA) newsletter , is now seeking material for the fourth (April 1998)
issue. If anybody has interesting observations - out-of-range sightings,
behavioural quirks, unusual food items or predation events etc regarding the
biology and conservation of wild parrots in the Australasian region - Peter
is interested.
His deadline for the April issue is Wednesday 8 April. His email address is
<> and he welcomes contributions by email attachment.
ECLECTUS is fairly substantial for a newsletter (No.3 had 60 pages) and is
already making a significant contribution to our knowledge of the parrots of
the region.
Remember that it is not just Australian items that are wanted. If anybody
has been birding recently in SE Asia, Wallacea, PNG or the Pacific islands -
even what you might think is obvious or common information about parrots in
these places may be unrecorded, or may be a valuable update on current
knowledge. This is your chance to paint a brush-stroke on the big picture
of what is happening with parrots in a part of the world undergoing drastic
environmental change.
Regards, Hugo.
