To all Birding Aus Birders A few weeks ago I reported seeing, a Common Tern amongst others with bright red legs. The bird was in the same winter plumage as with the other Common Terns with a black bill and dark carpal bar. I have been told by Keith Brandwood that juveniles may have red legs. Has anyone seen any Common Terns with red legs and feet before ? Also last year, myself and a couple others saw a Little Tern at Shell Pt (Botany Bay) which also appeared to have red legs. Again, has anybody seen this before? Also I would like to know if White-winged Black Terns have been seen in full breeding plumage in Newcastle or around Sydney in the past. Please respond direct to me, as I am currently not on the Birding Aus. subscription. Thanks Edwin |
