I've recently completed a 3500 word article entitled 'Bird-watching as a
Metaphor for All Things', which begins by describing bird-watching for a
non-bird-watching readership, and then gets on to conservation and the
crisis in biodiversity.

It's going to be published, in some form or other, later this year in the
literary magazine Meanjin. But I thought I'd put it up somewhere so that
people who were interested could look at it, and make comments to me, if
they liked.
