I have just been around the south west with Alex Appleman from Townsville
for a week.  The highlights were :

Lake McLarty near Pinjarra
Chestnut Teal (5 males), Long-toed Stint (4), Ruff (1), Black-winged Stilt
(1000+), Red-necked Avocet (4000), Banded Stilt (10+), Red-kneed Dotterel
(4), Whiskered Tern (10+), Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (4 feral), Little
Grassbird (heard)

near Pinjarra
Emu (1), Banded Lapwing (27), Brown Songlark (1 male), Rufous Songlark (1),
White-winged Triller (1 juvenile)

Dryandra State Forest
Painted Button-quail (4), Bush Stone-curlew (heard at 4am), Elegant Parrot,
Purple-crowned Lorikeet, Shining Bronze-cuckoo (1), Blue-breasted
Fairy-wren, Little Wattlebird, Western Spinebill, Tawny Frogmouth (1),
Carpet Python, Woylie, Numbat, Western Brush Wallaby, Western Grey Kangaroo,
Brush-tailed Possum

near Broomehill
Western Yellow Robin (1 plus juvenile)

Fitzgerald River NP
Stubble Quail (6), Regent Parrot, Red-capped Parrot, Shining Bronze-cuckoo
(1), Spotted (Yellow-rumped) Pardalote, Southern Scrub-robin (1), Crested
Bellbird (heard), Purple-gaped Honeyeater, Tawny-crowned Honeyeater, Little
Wattlebird, Southern Emu-wren (heard), Dugite

Bremer Bay
Hooded Plover (1), Common Tern (1), Chestnut Teal

Waychinicup near Cheyne Beach
Noisy Scrubbird (1 male), Western Bristlebird (1 female seen and male
heard), White-breasted Robin (2), Red-winged Fairy-wren (6), Southern
Emu-wren (3), Western Whipbird (heard), Long-billed Black-Cockatoo (50),
Tawny Frogmouth (1), Southern Boobook (1), Southern Brown Bandicoot,
Rosenberg's Monitor (2 plus road kill), King Skink

Albany Area
Western Rosella, Short-billed Black-Cockatoo, Brown Quail (8), Southern
Emu-wren, Yellow-nosed Albatross (~15), Flesh-footed Shearwater (~150),
Spotted Harrier, Peregrine Falcon, Whimbrel (5), Greater Sand Plover, Lesser
Sand Plover, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Banded Lapwing (1), Whiskered Tern
(30+), Red-winged Fairy-wren, Rosenberg's Monitor (1 plus 6 road kills),
Tiger Snake (1 road kill), Western Brown Snake (1 road kill)

Two People's Bay Albany
Western Bristlebird (1 male at Little Beach), Red-eared Firetail (2),
Western Whipbird (heard), Noisy Scrubbird (heard), Rock Parrot (13), Eastern
Reef Egret (2), Flesh-footed Shearwater, Hutton's Shearwater (1),
Great-winged Petrel (1), Yellow-nosed Albatross (3), Brown Quail (1 plus 3
chicks)

Albany to Lake Muir
Regent Parrot (20), Western Corella (120+)

Lake Muir (near Manjimup)
Banded Stilt (12000+), White-faced Heron (200+ maybe 500+), teal (10000+
including 15 male Chestnut), Long-billed Black-Cockatoo

One Tree Bridge near Manjimup
White-breasted Robin (1 plus juvenile), Western Rosella, Long-billed
Black-Cockatoo, Fan-tailed Cuckoo (2 heard), Red-winged Fairy-wren

Cape Leeuwin Augusta
Yellow-nosed Albatross, Flesh-footed Shearwater, Hutton's Shearwater (1),
Great-winged Petrel (1), Australasian Gannet, Bridled Tern (40+)

Hamelin Bay
Bridled Tern (200), Rock Parrot (2)

Sugarloaf Rock
Red-tailed Tropicbird (1), Australasian Gannet (5), Eastern Reef Egret (2)

Rottnest Island
Banded Stilt (~5000), Sanderling (1), Grey-tailed Tattler (1), Ruddy
Turnstone (60+), Bridled Tern (20), Common Pheasant (10)

Herdsman Lake Perth
Australian Spotted Crake (1), Wood Sandpiper (9), Red-kneed Dotterel (1 plus
1 immature), Black-fronted Plover (10 plus 3 juveniles)
