Rumour mongering

It is regrettable that birding-aus should be used to effectively spread
potentially damaging rumours about anybody or any institution.  If Michael
McLeish really wanted to know the status of funding of HANZAB he could have
enquired of the Chief Executive of Birds Australia.  I am sure this was
simply an error of judgement and I certainly do not want to use birding-aus
for argument.  I just feel we must maintain certain standards to ensure it
remains a valuable and postive channel of communication.  Graham Harrington.
