Any recent sightings to help fill out the story of this bird ? Perhaps it left after/during the storms on 12/1 ? Subsequent to Pat Bingham's first record on 1/1/98 there were postings on Birding-Aus relating to the afternoons of 6,10 (at 2 different times) and 12/1 and two reports of failures to find the bird (both in mornings). As Richard Nowotny said in a mail to me, it (a male, I think) showed a remarkable fidelity to a small area. But was that just an afternoon fidelity (feeding on nectar am and invertebrates pm?).
