There is a pair that breeds in a dead tree in a billabong next to the bike path on the city side of Burke Road. There has been a bird sitting on the nest for the past few weeks. One or other of this pair (I assume) can often be seen in the river a kilometre or so closer to the city (near Chandler Highway). I have also seen a bird near Dight's falls, but only once.
