A contact in suburban Brisbane has notified me of circumstances where a
pair of adult Bush Stone-curlews are guarding a nest which is located in
a newly developed carpark at a schoolyard. The nest is located on the
edge of the carpark and doesn't appear to be treatened by cars
(roadblocks were put up by concerned parents to protect the nest).

They are concerned about the welfare of the chicks, which are yet to
hatch.

Has anyone had a similar experience? The schoolkids are concerned and
are seeking any advice.
