Many apologies, I know this question does not relate directly to birds, but I am hoping there are some budding herpetologists out there. Tonight I found a snake on my property near the house (scared the dog a bit). It is about 2 feet long, slender in body and distinctively marked with black and white bands; it also had a relatively small head. Could somebody let me know what this snake is and let me know more about it's biology? Incidentally, Koels have been calling here (Nambour) since early October and a couple of recent highlights on my property: Pacific Baza pair perched high up a eucalypt; king parrots (pr) feeding in my guava tree; white-headed pigeons (5) feeding in the neighbour's camphor laurels; and regular YTBC's. |
