I have a few copies of this new journal, kindly sent to me for reviewing
by the editor, WM James Davis, who currently lives in Brisbane (but don't
hold that against him).
I will give you all my thoughts on the journal when I have a chance to do
it properly, which is unlikely to be before early January, when I'll have
the chance to put my feet up in between trips to Long Reef to see the
unusual waders that will be stopping by about then.
If anyone needs to know about the Interpretative Birding Bulletin before
then, you can contact Jim at or me at the usual
places (like For the moment, I'll jsut say that
it looks a well-written publication, focusing on behaviour, interactions
and social observations of birds. I can't really assess its
methodological strength at this point, but it seems to be based mainly on
systematic observation. I don't know of anything similar in the current
Australian literature, although the type of articles could turn up in a
variety of our journals and magazines.
