Dear Lorne,

Are both of us (and our Fitters) out of date ? My Birds of Britain and
Europe, with North Africa and the Middle East (Heinzel, Fitter and
Parslow, Collins, 1972) includes:

Blue Rock Thrush (Monticola solitarius) blue underparts and resident
from Spain to Middle East (and further east) with some short distance
migration (eg to Egypt)

Rock Thrush (Monticola saxatilis) chestnut underparts and a summer
visitor to the same area, with some wintering in North Africa.

Even if they are now lumped I'm happy to call them different species
because, despite the baclava, retsina etc. they looked different to me.
