     Highlights in New South Wales over the last week are as follows:

     SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATER   'hundreds' passing Berkley Vale, Central
                                Coast 22/9
     PACIFIC BAZA               2 Colo River, Upper Colo 27/9
     SPOTTED HARRIER            1 Cornwallis Road, Windsor 28/9
     BARN OWL                   1 injured Noraville 16/9
     BROWN QUAIL                14 Mount Annan Bot. Gardens, Campbelltown all
                                month
     LEWIN'S RAIL               1 Taronga Zoo, Sydney 20/9
     JAPANESE SNIPE             4 Mill Ponds, Botany 27/9
     SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER     70 Pittown Lagoon, Windsor 28/9
     TOPKNOT PIGEON             40 Lady Carrington Drive, Royal Nat. Park 27/9
     SWIFT PARROT               10 overhead Shane's Park, Blacktown 28/9 - very
                                late
     CHANNEL-BILLED CUCKOO      1 Lake Tabourie, Central Coast 16/9
     PALLID CUCKOO              2 Mitchell Park, Cattai 28/9 and 1 Shane's Park,
                                Blacktown 28/9
     KOEL                       1 Chippendale, Sydney 'City' 24/9
     PHEASANT COUCAL            2 Chiltern Trail, Ingleside 20 - 21/9
     SACRED KINGFISHER          1 Lady Carrington Drive, Royal Nat. Park 27/9
                                and 1 Mitchell Park, Cattai 28/9
     WHITE-BROWED WOODSWALLOW   probably this species -  heard overhead Shane's
                                Park, Blacktown 28/9

     The main "Quail field" at Windsor has now been ploughed and a crop sown
