BIRD CONSERVATION PROJECT OFFICER
Specifications: Full-time Project Officer for Birds Australia. Centred on
Edenhope, Vict. Salary range $33-38,000. 12 month position, with
possibility of extension.
Duties: To implement the Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo Recovery Plan (S-E
Subspecies). Actions include investigation of the field biology of the
cockatoo, particularly breeding initiation and success and patterns of movement.
Experience/ability: post-graduate degree in biology and/or equivalent field
experience; field experience with birds and/or other animals; demonstrated
ability to analyse and interpret data and produce publishable reports.
BIRD CONSERVATION EXTENSION OFFICER
Specifications: Part-time (50%) Extension Officer for Birds Australia.
Centred on Edenhope, Vict. Salary range $16,500-19,000. 12 month position,
with possibility of extension.
Duties: To implement the Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo Recovery Plan (S-E
Subspecies). Key responsibility will be to ensure community participation
in the plan, particularly in population censuses, habitat-protection works
and revegetation programs.
Experience/Ability: Demonstrated experience in working with rural
communities; excellent organisational and written and oral communication
skills; experience in producing newsletters and media information.
