Hi all.

I have just had another very successful birding trip in the north-east
wheatbelt town of Beacon, in WA. Highlights of this trip included a flock
of White-fronted chats, Brown-headed Honeyeaters, Banded Lapwings, elusive
Grey Currawongs and very good views of Brown goshawks and Little Eagles.
This spot has produced some 58 species so far, including an apparent
abundance (4 separate individuals!) of Malleefowl, a flock of 20 Major
Mitchell's, Regent Parrots, Purple-crowned Lorikeets, many Wedge-tailed
Eagles, Mulga parrots, Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, Redthroats, Southern
Whitefaces, slightly out of range Laughing Turtle-doves, Little Corellas,
Budgies, White-browed Babblers and Grey Shrike-trushes.Just goes to show
that the wheatbelt is not all a vast birdless landscape!

Rob.
