Greetings Aus Birders! I am a birder currently living outside of Boston, MA, USA and am planning an extended trip to Australia this year, arriving early Nov. to stay perhaps til Feb. or March. I am grateful to find this mailing list to give me an opportunity to get a flavor for Australian Birds and Birding before I arrive. (no Black Faced Cuckoo Shrikes show up in my MASSBIRD e-mail!!) I read in one of my Guidebooks about O'Reilly's Bird Week, Nov 9th to 15th. Is this a Birders' Conference or a tourist event?? Would it be a good starting point for a birder visting Australia? Any info you could send would be greatly appreciated. I have found the RAOU Web Page and some others but would love the opportunity to communicate with some real people. Thanks in advance and Good Birding to you all. Diana Churchill Waltham, MA |
