I'm not sure about the time scale but 15 years ago Channel-billed cuckoos were one of those embarassing gaps in my list that has been spoken about lately. Now, in Ipswich (40km west of Brisbane), they are pretty hard to miss and have been that way for at least 10 years. I can often tick them off in the middle of a summer's night. It seemed to me that they followed the crows into town. cheers, Llew Rintoul |
