Interesting species recorded in the last week in the Parkes District
includes Musk Lorikeets (30+) second recording in twenty-two years in the
district. All birds feeding on lerps on Red Box.

Swift Parrots  have been at Cookamidgera SF for last fortnight,
originally though to be about 20 birds, but a count this morning would
appear to indicate about 150+ birds (38 in one Grey Box), only 2 Superb
Parrots
, lots of Noisy Friarbirds and Little Friarbirds (bloody noisy).
There is also small numbers of Fuscous, Brown-headed Honeyeaters and a few
Black-chinned Honeyeaters all enjoying the good year (so far). All three races of Striated Pardalote are also present.

Little Lorikeets have also returned in the last three weeks in large
numbers to feed on flowering White box and lerp infestations on Grey Box.
