I seem to recall seeing a program on television about magpies (in Europe) stealing golf balls and carrying them off and hiding them. One convenient hiding place was apparently the "hole in one". I have seen the occasional good bird on golf courses but the ones out in desert areas with big swaths of green areas well watered from precious deep aquifers make me cringe at the thought of the waste when farms are going under because of drought... Good birding, Katie Bertsche Katie Bertsche .........If you're too busy to go birding, you're too busy.
