Are there supposed to be Brolga around Brisbane (Qld)? My father telephoned last night to say that he saw a single bird near the South Pine River (as it North Pine? Ooops). Most locals will know the spot -it's where the Ospreys nest right beside the freeway, just south of the bridge over the river. I think the suburb is Bald Hills, or it used to be. There is a new wetland area near the bridge - close to Deepwater Bend. The wetland has a decent boardwalk, and the brolga was near there. Is this an unusual record for the area?
