OK we've been through some of the arguments for against golf courses, with some interesting points raised. Now let's see who can come up with the best list of birds seen on a golf course. You can't count Belmont Common or Long Reef unless you've seen the bird ON the course or whilst on it yourself. I'll start off with St Andrew's in St Andrew's (Scotland) because I saw my first Eider there. And anyone who has played golf has heard of it (extra points). Long Reef is also great because of the views and the chance of good seabirds, but it takes SO long to get around it and those long uphill fairways make you want to give up and go back to just birdwatching.
