Greetings to all: Since someone posted an item on an osprey hovering, I have witnessed something which to me is unusual. It was an osprey taking a fairly lengthy and splashy bath in the shallows of a fresh water lagoon on Bribie Island. I wondered whether this was done to get rid of the salt that must build up on their plumage after splashing in to catch their food or perhaps it was just because it was Saturday and bath day? Anyone care to comment? Cheers, Ian MacRae |
