I friend of mine who is a birdo and a bibliophile has asked me to put this message on birding-aus: A second-hand bookshop in Canberra has a copy of Matthews 'Oceanic Birds of South America' (c.1936), a great classic of ornithological literature. It's in two voumes, the copy they have is in good condition and a bargain (so I'm told) at $210. The bookshop is in Lyneham, is called Booklore and their number is 06 247 6450. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Dr John Leonard PO Box 243, Woden, ACT 2606, AUSTRALIA "We are not concerned with hopes and fears, only with the truth as far as our reason permits us to discover it."
