My family and I will be traveling to Australia June 22-August 9, of this
year. While I realize that this is not the best time of the year to see the
aviafauna, school schedules here in the states dictate the period of travel.
We will be visiting the following locations:
June 22-27 Alice Springs, Uluru National Park, MacDonnell Ranges
June 27-July 4 Darwin, Kakadu National Park, Katherine Gorge NP
July 5-11 Cairns, Daintree, Atherton Tablelands, Great Barrier Reef
July 12-18 Brisbane, Lamington National Park, Bunya NP
July 19- August 9 Adelaide to Sydney via auto, lots to see

I have been able to secure copies of both Thomas and Thomas and Bransbury to
help in the planning, and I'm trying to balance birding (me) with more
general tourist activities (family)

I would appreciate any specific sites for finding endemic and hard to locate
avaian species. Additionally, we are interested in the more uncommon mammal
species as well.

I would really like to get on a pelagic trip either from Portland (July
20-22) or from Wollongong (August 5-8). If no pelagic trip is scheduled for
this time period, is there a way to secure passage on a deep-sea fishing
bost, or similar vessel for a day?

Thank you in advance for your assistance
