WOLLONGONG, NSW PELAGIC TRIP REPORT 23rd February 1997
Trip Summary:
A very quiet trip for this time of year. The number of species and the
total bird counts were down, however the rarity of the day made a up for
this with fine views obtained of two Tahiti Petrel, in fact this is the
first opportunity I have had to photograph this species. The ocean
temperature was exceptionally high and may be a significant factor as to
why the numbers were down?

Fine and hot.
Water temperature 23.9.5 - 24.3C once beyond the shelf.
Departed at 7.00 am and returned at 4.30 pm.

Reached 25.8 Nautical Miles E of Wollongong.
