Jan 26, 1997 FRECKLED DUCK - 2, Murgheboluc wetlands (near Bannockburn). Feb 1, 1997 MASKED OWL - between Meredith & Lethbridge, Midland Highway (Geelong - Ballarat road), SW Victoria. Came within a few cm of being a roadkill. Probably female; intermediate morph. (Lawrie Conole) Feb 2, 1997 BEAUTIFUL FIRETAIL, SOUTHERN EMU-WREN, CHESTNUT-RUMPED HEATHWREN &tc. - Salt Creek valley, Bald Hills, Anglesea. (LC, Susan Myers, Stuart Dashper) Feb 8, 1997 WHITE-BELLIED SEA-EAGLE - Cape Otway/Station Beach. Adult. (LC) also RUFOUS BRISTLEBIRD, SINGING HONEYEATER, BLUE-WINGED PARROT, SOUTHERN EMU-WREN, &tc. (LC) Feb 16, 1997 Possible, unconfirmed REEVE; 2 SANDERLING, &tc. - Avalon Beach.
