Don't tempt fate Russell. I believe the privatisation of National Parks
(shouldn't that be state parks? - only those managed by ANCA are truly
national) is already being considered in Australia (? in Queensland). And
access to certain prime birding spots is already restricted by permit
(Werribee sewage farm $20, based on motor vehicle registration) or banned
altogether except by groups with the right connections like the
Australiasian Wader Studies Group - example Murtcaim Wildlife Area,
wintering site of Orange-bellied Parrots.
Makes it difficult for interstate or overseas birders to appreciate our
native wildlife, does it not?
Peter.
