Greetings all,
Made a flying visit (actually it was over water) to Rottnest Is. in
response to a report about Red-necked Phalarope. Checked out Government
House, Serpentine, Baghdad, Garden lakes to no avail. A Brit couple also
birding on the island (unaware of the phalarope sighting) did not see any
phalarope. Maybe the very windy conditions had something to do with it.
There were hundreds of Banded Stilts on the salt lakes, though.
Other species seen:
Ruddy Turnstone
Rufous-necked Stint
Red-capped Dotterel
Sanderling
Curlew Sandpiper
Grey-tailed Tattler
Aust Shelduck
Pacific Black Duck
Osprey
Aust Raven
Sacred Kingfisher
Silver Gull
Crested Tern
Caspian Tern
Singing Honeyeater
Indian Peafowl
Ring-necked Pheasant
Galah
White-fronted Chat
